15th Street At present, the existing street is earth composition and subject to degradation caused by inclement weather. Although linear grading is performed once a week for surface and drainage maintenance, rough and irregular surfaces persist along with an exuberant amount of dust pollution during peak traffic and dry periods.

The project will consist of street rehabilitation to14th Street from 15th Street to Vargas Road approximately 3,168 linear feet, 15th Street from Southern Boulevard, approximately 5,280 linear feet to Vargas Road. The streets are approximately 24' X 5,280' in length and encompass an area within the community that is sensitive to escalated new private residential development. At present, the existing street is earth composition and subject to degradation caused by inclement weather. Although linear grading is performed once a week for surface and drainage maintenance, rough and irregular surfaces persist along with an exuberant amount of dust pollution during peak traffic and dry periods. It will be necessary to install 6 inches of base course, and 3 inches of Plant Mix Bituminous Pavement (P.M.B.P.), a 2% roadway crown and street intersection grading along with drainage improvements to the existing roadway. In addition, vehicular traffic speed dissipaters consisting of P.M.B.P. should also be installed at 1,000' intervals. This will allow for proper drainage stable surface of the roadway and a uniform residential vehicular speed . The quantities on the subsequent page reflect the total for the rehabilitation of 14th Street and 15th Street.
